His research interests include Construction Labour, Skill Development, Social Security, and Child Labour. His research work “Opportunities and challenges before the construction workers in the globalised era: The Indian case” has been published in the NLI Research Study Series.  

 

He coordinates training programmes on themes like Promoting Decent Work in Construction Industry Developing Health Security, Leadership Development Programme for Rural Trade Union Leaders, Enhancing Competence of Youth in Dealing with Child Labour, Developing Positive Attitude for  Excellence at Work, Developing Skill Development Strategies for Women Workers in  Informal Sector, Managing livelihood and Social protection in the Mountain Regions, Orientation Programme on Labour Issues as  Course Director. He takes sessions on, Skill Development, Gender Issues, Social Security (Health Security), Construction Labour, Child labour and Convergence Issues, Research Methods, Labour Laws, Positive Attitude in different training programmes of the Institute.

Priyadarsan Amitav Khuntia is working as Associate Fellow at the V.V. Giri National Labour Institute. He is a first class post graduate in Economics and Public Administration with M.Phil degree in Public Administration.  He was a participant in the “Course on Research Methods in Labour Economics” of VVGNLI in 2004. He was also selected and participated in the “Young Researcher Fellowship, 2005-06 Programme” of V.V. Giri National Labour Institute.

He has been associated with the field appraisal of NCLPs as a part of Project Monitoring Committee of the Ministry of Labour and Employment and visited Punjab for this purpose. He is also the Associate Coordinator of NRCCL. Mr Khuntia has attended/presented papers in National/International workshops, conferences and seminars organised by Educational Resource Centre in collaboration with Ford Foundation, Indian Society of Labour Economics, V.V. Giri National Labour Institute, Ministry of Labour & Employment ILO,CEC, Department of Analytical and Applied Economics(Utkal University) , Department of Public Administration (U.U) and Indian Institute of Public Administration(Odisha Region)  on themes like Self Development, MNREGS, Child Labour, Social Security,  Women Empowerment, ESI Scheme.
